Installation of the Wall Foam

Once the wall has been erected you may begin to apply the wall foam. It is highly recommended to use Gladon Foam Bond Spray Adhesive and doing so will make the installation of the wall foam dramatically easier.

Gladon Foam Bond Spray Adhesive For Wall Foam

Gladon Spray Adhesive Foam Bond is extremely versatile, designed to bond wall foam to itself, concrete, wood, and other hard surfaces. Its fast track properties and high bond strength gets the job done quickly and easily.

Begin by spraying a small section of the wall (you can also spray the wall foam as well to make sure a solid bond is created).

When the Foam Bond becomes tacky begin to apply the wall foam as near to the top of the wall as possible. There are two reasons for this; one being that the wall, even at its highest point, will be protected since the bottom will be covered with either a sand or a foam pool cove. Second, the straight line of the pool wall will assist in installing the wall foam evenly as it will be easy to keep the spacing consistent. Continue to work in manageable sections until the entire circumference is covered. If there is excess wall foam left over, cut and discard the remainder. Once completely adhered, continue with the liner installation process.

Benefits of Wall Foam

Since the vinyl pool liner is one of the softest and most vital parts of an above ground pool, wall foam is important because it adds an extra layer of protection between the liner and metal components of the pool. It can protect against punctures from the wall bolts or any other sharp edges of the pool wall or pool components and should be considered before pool installation.

Wall foam can add softness once the pool has been installed but for the most part will not make a dramatic difference in regards to feel. It is thick enough only to be a protectant. The softness does help though in regards to cushioning something sharp from the inside. For example, if a toenail were to push against the wall, it is less likely to cut the vinyl pool liner with the wall foam as a damper. Without the wall foam, the hard surface of the wall could make it easier for something sharp to effect the liner.

Overall, with the ease of installation and its inexpensive price, Wall Foam is a simple way to improve the overall quality of your above ground pool and provide added peace of mind.

Do I cut this foam same as liner?
Apply foam over all inlets/skimmer, then apply liner, then screw in all faceplates (skimmer/inlets) and then cut foam and liner together from inside faceplates?
