Parts Breakdown

Identifying the parts of your pool model before you begin your installation will make the process of assembling the swimming pool much easier. Below you will find a complete breakdown of the parts and components for the Quest Oval Swimming Pool Model.

Top Ledge – Reference #6

Top Ledge

The Top Ledges (sometimes referred to as Top Rails) are the resin top finishing components of the swimming pool that are placed between the vertical upright posts. The Top Ledges are 8″ wide and are located at the very top of your pool.

Top Track/ Inner Stabilizer – Reference #1

Top Track

The Top Track Stabilizers are the tracks/rails that stabilize the top of the pool wall.

Material: Aluminum

Top Caps – Reference #9

Top Cap

The Top Caps go over the Top Joiner Plates. The Top Caps cover all of the hardware where your Top Ledges screw into the Top Joiner Plates.

Upright Collars – Reference #10

Upright Collar Straight Side

The Upright Collars are installed at the top of every upright on the outside of the swimming pool.

For the oval shaped Quest swimming pools there are (2) types of Upright Collars. There are Upright Collars for the straight side and also the curved sides of the oval. They will differ slightly in shape as the straight side of an oval pool has different uprights than the curved sides and the cap must fit onto the upright.

Screw Covers – Reference #11

The Screw Covers are installed on the Upright Collars concealing the hardware.

Top Joiner Plates – Reference #3 & #13

Top Joiner Plate for Oval Straight Side Uprights

The Top Joiner Plates are screwed in at the top of every Upright. Your swimming pool’s Top Ledges will be screwed into these Top Joiner Plates.

For oval shaped swimming pools there are (2) types of Top Joiner Plates. There are Top Joiner Plates for the straight side and also the curved sides of the oval. They will differ slightly in shape as the straight side of an oval pool has different uprights than the curved sides and the Top Joiner plate must fit onto the top of the upright.

Uprights – Reference #5 & #14

Straight Side Upright

The Uprights are the vertical posts on the outside of your swimming pool wall. Each upright post on the curved side of the swimming pool connects to the top and bottom joiner plates with screws.

For oval shaped swimming pools there are (2) types of Uprights. There are Uprights for the straight side and also the curved sides of the oval. They will differ slightly in shape as the straight side of an oval pool has different uprights than the curved sides and the Top Joiner plate must fit onto the top of the upright.

Bottom Joiner Plate – Reference #4

The Bottom Joiner Plates connect your Bottom Tracks together on a round pool and on the curved sides of an oval swimming pool. Your curved side uprights will also screw into the Bottom Joiner Plates.

The Upright Boots are the decorative pieces that screw into the bottom of your Uprights.

Coping Strips – Reference #7

Overlap Liner Installation Using Coping Strips

An Overlap Pool Liner is installed by overlapping it over the pool wall and using plastic Coping Strips to hold it in place. Coping Strips are not required when installing a Uni-Bead Liner or J-Hook Liner, but they are included with the swimming pool. If using a Uni-Bead or J-Hook liner you can discard the coping strips.

Gussets – Reference #15 & #16

The Gussets consists of a Left side and a Right Side that are attached together at each straight side Upright.

Channel Supports – Reference #18 & #19

Upper Oval Channel

Under Ground Channel

The Upper (Top) Oval Channel and Under (Bottom) Ground Channel come together to form a tube. The Upper Oval Channel is longer than the Under Ground Channel and will extend past the Under Oval Channel towards the inside of the swimming pool.

The Gussets and Straight Side Uprights will be installed to these channels.

Pressure Plate – Reference #21

The Pressure Plates are corrugated steel plates that attach to the Upper Oval Channels and to each other.

Straight Side Bottom Rail Connector – Reference #17

Connector Bottom Rail Straight Side

The Straight Side Bottom Rail Connector attaches to the Upper (Top) Oval Channel and is used to connect the straight side Bottom Tracks. The straight side Bottom Tracks will slide into the Connector on both sides.

Bottom Track – Reference #2

Bottom Track

The Bottom Track (sometimes referred to as Bottom Rail) is where your pool wall sits.

The Bottom Track inserts into the Upright Boots on the curved sides of the swimming pool and Straight Side Bottom Rail Connector on the straight sides.

Strap Section – Reference #22

Strap Section

The Strap Sections are connected to the Upper (Top) Oval Channels and lay flat across the width of our Oval Swimming Pools.

Oval Channel End Cap – Reference #23

Oval Channel End Cap

The Oval Channel End Cap is installed on the Upper (Top) Oval Channel and is used to prevent dirt and sand from entering the Channel.

3 Hole Square Washers – Reference #20

3 Hole Square Washers

The 3 Hole Square Washers are used in the pre-assembling of the straight sides of a buttress-free oval pool.

The 3 Hole Square Washers are installed on each side of the supports when joining the Gussets, Under (Bottom) Ground Channel, Upper (Top) Oval Channel and Straight Side Uprights together.

Foam Block – Reference #24

Foam Block

The Foam Blocks are inserted into the Under (Bottom) Ground Channel. Foam Blocks are used to prevent voids (sink holes) from forming at the location of the Under (Bottom) Ground Channel.
